Sun Vietnam officially opens

Sun Microsystems and BT Frontline announced the official launch of Sun Vietnam with the opening of its Hanoi office.



The launch of Sun Vietnam will be officiated by His Excellency Dr Nguyen Minh Hong, Vice Minister of Ministry of Information and Communications, Vietnam and witnessed by Mr Gan Boon San, President, Asia South, Sun Microsystems and Mr Steve Ting, Group Founder and Executive Chairman, BT Frontline.

Sun Vietnam is the world's first establishment under the Sun Equity Partner program. Sun Vietnam is a joint venture between Sun Microsystems and BT Frontline. The worldwide partner equity program is modeled on a franchising concept with partners to effectively manage a Sun branded operation. Sun's partnership with BT Frontline is founded on the objective of partnering with leading regional experts to drive growth for Sun by increasing market coverage quickly and cost efficiently in key emerging markets around the world.

Vietnam is one of the key growth drivers in Asia Pacific for Sun. The Asia Pacific region contributed 12% towards Sun's total revenue for the first quarter of FY09.
