Property firms mostly intact from crisis

Sansiri Plc gained 1.14 per cent in the morning session to Bt1.77, bouyed by the sharp increase in its quarterly net profit.



 

 The property company showed a substantial increase in the third quarter net profit from Bt130 million last year to Bt511 million, thanks to the higher sale revenue.

 Sale revenue skyrocketed to Bt4 billion from Bt1.1 billion in the same period last year. Meanwhile, the expenses also dropped to 14 per cent of revenue, from 22 per cent in the same period last year.

 Asian Property Development Plc also posted a 85.3 per cent increase in thirdquarter net profit, from Bt244 million to Bt452.5 million. Its quarterly gross margin rose from 33.4 per cent last year to 34.3 per cent., due mainly to the transfers of condominium units which generated higher margins. 

 SC Asset Plc's third quarter net profit also increased from Bt121.2 million last year to Bt192.3 million.

 Golden Land Property Development Plc posted a net loss of Bt22.7 million in the third quarter, compared to the net profit of Bt59.5 million in the same period a year earlier.

 Earlier, Thailand's largest developer Land & Houses Plc reported a 26.82 per cent drop in quarterly net profit, from Bt1.18 billion last year to Bt860 million. It attributed the decrease from the slower in customers' decision to buy houses due to political crisis and uncertain economic conditions.

 Preuksa Real Estate Plc however posted an increase in the quarter net profit, from Bt188.7 million last year to Bt558 million. It said the significant  growth reflected the implementation of the correct strategy: the continuous launch of projects in right locations with appropriate selling prices.
