Songkhla hosts lighting festivities for 120 days

Tourism Authority of Thailand Songkhla Office is hosting "lighting" festivities during November 1 to February 28, targetting to draw 1 million visitors who would spend Bt2.4 billion.



 Prapas Intapasat, director of the office, said that visitors from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, China, Korea and Taiwan are the main target.

  The festivities started with the Loy Krathong festival. Nimit Chaijirathikul, chairman of the federation of tourism business in the province, said that the Loy Krathong festival alone should generate at least Bt300 million.

 Hotels have reported higher bookings during November.
