Prasopsuk said he would verify the petition and raise the issue at the Senate's meeting on Friday.
Arunee said the group was confident that Rosana had intentionally and seriously violated Senate ethics. However, at least one-fourth of the Senate has yet to vote to pass the case to the National Anti-Corruption Commission for investigation.
Rosana said the move led by female MPs was just meant to discredit her and said she would not be impeached. She does not intend to let her followers in the chamber. Nevertheless, male MPs who had threatened her should also be warned or punished, she added.
A group of Rosana's supporters yesterday petitioned against Rosana impeachment to House Speaker Chai Chidchob, asking for an investigation and measures to stop violence against women like male MPs threatening Rosana. PPP MPs should not have abused their majority to impeach Rosana unfairly, the group said.
