Energy pushes for higher LPG prices

Energy Minister Wannarat Charnnukul on Wednesday called for a meeting with related units to further discuss the levy of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices for the transportation and industrial sectors.

Attending the meeting included the representatives of the Energy Business Department and PTT Plc.

Wannarat said that the final proposal would soon be submitted to the national energy policy committee, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Sompong Amornwiwat.

He noted that as global oil prices slump, it is the good opportunity to cut subsidies on LPG.
