
Bangkok governor Apirak Kosayodhin says the special arrangements have been made to respect HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana's cremation day, which falls close to the festival date.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is opening parks including Lumpini, Chatuchak, Saranrom, Wachirabenchatat, Phranakhon, Rommaninat, Thonburirom, Serithai and Nongchok from 3pm to midnight on November 12 for people to float their krathong.
Canalsides and pontoons and piers on the Chao Phya River have been checked for safety, while official celebrations have been organised at Rama VIII and Rama IX bridges, Santichaiprakarn Park, Lumpini Park and the edge of Lumpungpuai marsh.
