Cheaper CAT calls to Asia, Australia

CAT PhoneNet is offering special discounts of up to 84 per cent on calls to 13 countries.

With the year-end festive season fast approaching, CAT PhoneNet customers making calls to any of the following 12 destinations in Asia and to Australia will enjoy the special deal, which runs from November 1 to February 28: Pakistan (at Bt4.50 per minute), Sri Lanka (Bt4.50), Nepal (Bt9), India (Bt3.50), the Philippines (Bt7), Bangladesh (Bt3.50), Cambodia (Bt6), United Arab Emirates (Bt9), Burma (Bt13), Saudi Arabia (Bt10), Vietnam (Bt5), Indonesia (Bt4) and Australia (Bt2).

"At CAT, we see great potential in these markets. There are already many Thai people working in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, and at the same time, Thailand is welcoming an increasing number of expatriates from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Myanmar [Burma]," said Peerasak Arunsakul, executive vice president of CAT Telecom.

"The period between November and February is the festive time when people oceans apart are thinking about each other and keeping in touch. So, it is hoped that this special discount for CAT PhoneNet will encourage more people to use our service," he added.

In addition, CAT PhoneNet overseas call cards can also be used to ring 153 countries worldwide, all at cost-effective rates, starting from only Bt2 per minute.

The cards are available with a stored value of Bt200, Bt300, Bt500 and Bt1,000.
