
Senior sales and marketing manager Paanun Urunanont said the company is testing the WiMax service in Chonburi province. The company expects to finish the trail within next month.
The company plans to provide the service next year though a core network to support the premium market, focusing on industrial estate and hospitality industries.
The WiMax service will cover data communication, IP phone, voice over IP (VoIP) and video conferencing. The company will also provides high-speed Internet though the Motorola Canopy technology to businesses, such as private wireless point-to-point service providers and corporates, located in the Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate. In the nest step, the company will provide unified messaging services.
He said the company currently provides services in three main areas including VoIP, public telephones and the Internet. Milcom Systems provides Internet access under a typ-1 licence and an international Internet-gateway service under a type-3 licence from the National Telecommunications Commission. The type-1 licence is for licensees who do not have their own networks, whereas the type-3 licence is for those with large networks employing WiMax technology.
