Preecha Inthornchathorn, a job placement official, still insisted that the level is not a crisis, as the unemployment is tiny compared to the 2.7 million population in the province.
Most of the unemployed contains bachelor-degree education.
Lately, a jewellery factory was shut down and 120 workers were laid off and an electronic part maker also launched a voluntary programme to shed 115 workers.
Preecha said the office is now monitoring if the employers comply with the labour law in expelling the workers. Meanwhile, the list of open jobs are also offered to the laid-off workers. The office will also approach companies and factories to survey their employment demand.
