Heidrick & Struggles see higher business in Asia Pacific

High demand for professional executives in Asia Pacific is cited as the main contribution to the third-quarter satisfactory financial results of Heidrick & Struggles International Inc, a global executive search and leadership consulting firm.

Net revenue in the firm's Asia Pacific region increased 18.2 percent to US$26.6 million from US$22.5 million in the same period last year. The company has several offices in the region, including Thailand.

Net revenue from the APAC region represented 17 percent of the firm's consolidated net revenue in the third quarter. The Industrial and Business & Professional Services industry groups were the largest contributors to year-over-year growth in the quarter, but the Life Sciences, Education/Non-for-Profit, Financial Services, and Consumer industry groups also achieved growth over the prior year period.

Regional Managing Partner for Asia Pacific, Gerry Davis, said "This was the second highest revenue quarter in our history. On a rolling 12-month basis we are now the largest and fastest growing executive search firm in the region. Despite global economic uncertainty, organisations need top leadership talent to manage through times of growth as well as recession. We  will continue to invest in this region, in our people and infrastructure, in order to capitalize on the growing demand for our senior level executive search and leadership consulting services."

To drive this region's growth, the Asia Pacific region has added 15 consultants last year.  As of September 30, 2008, consultant headcount was 76, compared to 61 in the same period last year.
