ITALIAN-THAI DEVELOPMENT recently signed two construction contracts: one

worth Bt11.71 billion with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand for overburden removal and coal extraction at the Mae Moh Mine Phase 7 project in Lampang province; and the other worth Bt78.41 million with the Asia Industrial Estate for construction of a raw-water pipeline in Rayong province.

PTT EXPLORATION AND PRODUCTION recorded a third-quarter net profit of Bt12.98 billion, up from Bt7.04 billion in the same period last year. For the first nine months of this year, the company posted a net profit of Bt34.88 billion, up from Bt20.97 billion in the same period last year.

GFPT's board approved setting up a joint venture with Nichirei Foods to produce and sell processed-chicken products and frozen raw chickens to Japan and other countries where the Nichirei Group has clients, with registered capital of Bt780 million. The new entity will start operations by July 2011.
