Thai students wins astronomy medals

Two Thai students have won medals in the recent international astronomy Olympiad in Italy. Patthaya Phermnamthip, of the allgirl Satree Witthaya School won a silver medal while



Nopphadol Pansuebsai of the boysonly Suan Kularb School won a bronze medal in the XIII International Astronomy Olympiad, an annual competition held in Trieste, Italy, on October 1321.

Kullaphan Phimsamarn, a Kasetsart University lecturer who supervised the threemember Thai team, was pleased by the two medals.

"The exams this year were very difficult and required both calculation skill and imagination," he added.

Both Patthaya and Nopphadol, who study in Bangkok, are in their lower secondary levels.
