
"I will continue to work hard for the public. I have to consider the benefits of the public," Somchai said in an urgent press briefing held at temporary seat of government at Don Muang airport.
"I will surely accept the result of the investigation. If the panel said I am guilty, I will accept that," Somchai said.
An independent committee set up to investigate the October 7 bloodbath will complete its task in about 15 days and his government could not interfere in the work of the panel.
He said he empowered the committee with authority to summon anyone for interrogation or summon documents from any government agency.
He said his government would comply with the finding of the panel.
Somchai said in a nationally-televised speech that his government is tasked with several important official duties towards the year's end, with the royal funeral rites of HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana due in November, HM the King's birthday on December 5 and the asean Summit in mid-December.
Somchai was speaking after meeting representatives of six coalition parties.

All the six coalition partners agreed to stay on to work for the benefit of the country and the public majority.
Those attending the meeting included Deputy Prime Minister Sanan Kachornprasart, Agriculture Minister Somsak Prissanananthakul, Industry Minister Pracha Promnok, Deputy Finance Minister Ranongrak Suwanchawee, Labour Minister Uraiwan Thienthong, Ruamjai Thai Chart Pattana Chettha Thanajaro and Deputy Finance Minister Pradit Pataraprasit
The meeting was held a day after the military top brass called on the government to resign.
