Samak cannot join DAAD rally

Former prime minister Samak Sundaravej cannot join the pro-government Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship's event next month as doctors said he must stay in hospital for another few weeks, key member Natthawut Saikua said yesterday.

Natthawut, also Government Spokesman, said Samak had informed him that doctors required Samak to stay at the hospital for several weeks at least, then they would evaluate his condition again. It was unlikely Samak would be able to join the DAAD event.

Another DAAD key member Jatuporn Promphan said on Tuesday Samak had agreed to be a speaker on DAAD's "Today's Truth" event on November 1.

Natthawut said the doctors were worried about Samak's condition after learning this news.
