King to attend ceremony

His Majesty the King will preside over a ceremony to put a seven-tiered umbrella atop his late sister's royal crematorium next Monday.

The ceremony will take place in the evening, according to deputy government spokeswoman Suparat Nakboonnam.

The royal crematorium is located in Sanam Luang.

The royal ceremonies for HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana's royal cremation are scheduled to run from November 14 to November 19.

From November 15 to November 16, about 2,000 dramaticarts students, their teachers, musicians and artists will stage performances for the public at Sanam Luang as part of the royal cremation too.

Fine Arts Department directorgeneral Grienggrai Sumpatchalit yesterday said the acting crew would attend a sacred ritual to pay their respects to deceased artists at Chulalongkorn University's auditorium on Sunday.

"HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will preside over the ritual," Grienggrai added.
