TISCO suffers from lower capital gains

TISCO Bank showed a 9.6 per cent drop in third quarter net profit, from Bt440 million to Bt397.9 million, due mainly to a sharp drop in capital gains.

The bank's net interest income and dividend rose 18.4 per cent on year in line with the expansion in lending, while the interest margin was maintained at 3.7 per cent - compared to 3.8 per cent in the same period last year.

However, net non-interest income dropped 19 per cent, as its gains in stock investment plunged by 95.9 per cent following the sluggish trading conditions.
