Army chief denies meeting Prem, forcing House dissolution

Army chief General Anupong Paochinda on Thrsday dismiss speculation that he had met with Privy Council president Prem Tinsulanond at Si Sao Thewes residence.



Anupong said the last time he saw Prem was on October 1 during a courtesy call to mark the inauguration of incoming military commanders to assume office.

He also ruled out the allegation that he was pressuring the government to dissolve the House in order to defuse tensions arising from the Tuesday's tear gas debacle.

The situation has not degerated to a point warranting the military intervention, he said.
