SET down to 5-yr low

Thai share prices fell 6.06 per cent in the morning session on Wednesday, amid concerns on the double crisis following the global financial turmoil and domestic violence.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index lost 32.04 points and finished morning trade at a five-year-low of 496.67 points, on turnover of Bt8.4 billion.

The bloody violence in Bangkok on Tuesday around Parliament claimed two dead and 437 injured, public health officials said Wednesday.
