
The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand has approved the establishment of the first serv
¬ice estate in Thailand following the revision of its main Act.IEAT enforced the fourth edition of IEAT Act BE2550 on January 9, under which
"Export Industrial Zone" has been revised to "Free Zone". This provides a broader scope by allowing service businesses to invest in industrial estates and parks.IEAT governor Monta Pranotnorapal said it had changed some content of the Act in order to create a friendlier investment atmos¬phere in Thailand .
"We [Thailand] have very high potential in the tourism industry, while we are concerned about environmental pollution in the industri¬al sector. The investment promotion in the service sector will help stimu¬lating our economy," she said.This development project, owned by TCC Land, which is owned by bev
¬erage tycoon Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, is a part of promoting serv¬ice investment as a cluster. It will be located in Phetchaburi province.Monta said the company had bought more than 10,000 rai for the development. The first phase will cover about 1,000 rai.
"This service estate will be differ¬ent from the development of an indus¬trial estate because it will develop infrastructure maintaining the beau¬ty of nature for tourists," she said.Apart from this project, six other industrial estates are under con
¬struction. They comprise TFD, VRM, Maharatnakorn, Pan Thong Kasem, Pin Thong Laem Chabang and Bangsaphan.A service estate is one of the prop¬erty project plans which will be devel¬oped by TCC Land in Phetchaburi province.
Earlier, the company had announced master plans for devel¬oping five undeveloped properties. Some of the initiatives are:
Sena Master Plan on KasetNawamin Road in Bangkok, worth Bt10 billion, which will be an inte¬grated township that harmoniously combines a lifestyle village, auto mall, premiumoutlets centre, lifestyle power centre, lakeside entertainment and residential components.
North Park Master Plan on VibhavadiRangsit Road in Bangkok has been developed under the theme
"The Ultimate Town".The project will integrate an office building, golf course and residential complex.

¬bine residential projects, a service industrial estate and commercial areas for a wide offering to potential customers.The company had earlier planned to develop Chaam Resort Town into a theme park and also held negotiations with Disneyland two years ago.
But now, Chaam Resort Town will be developed into a beach resort with a total worth of Bt20 billion.
