More than 600 adults in their 40s were among 132,209 applicants for the GAT (General Aptitude Test) and PAT (Professional and Academic Aptitude Test) exams, a senior official said yesterday.
The National Institute of Education Testing Service (NIETS) will distribute the CDs explaining the GAT and PAT exams to be used in the 2010 university admission system to 3,000 schools next week, said NIETS director Uthumporn Jamornman.
Interested persons can also get details about the exams at www.Niets.or.th.
The deadline for applications is the end of this month.
Of the 2,833 applicants with Mathayom 6 certificates, 658 were in their 40s - probably parents seeking to coach their kids before the exams in March next year.
Uthumporn said there was no rule against them applying.
