Thaksin always good man to us: Somchai

Somchai is visiting Chiang Mai to take part in a merit making rite for the ancestors of the Shinawatra family at the Rongtham Samakkhi Temple in San Kamphaeng district. A lot of people waited for him at the temple.

Greeting the supporters, Somchai said Thaksin supported him until he reached the highest political career. Somchai said he did not care how other people would view Thaksin but for him and Chiang Mai people, Thaksin is always a good man.

"No matter how other people will view Thaksin, he is a good man to us and I am sure he is a good man," Somchai said.

Somchai arrived at Chiang Mai late Wednesday night.

In the morning he went to visit the Doi Suthep Temple. At the temple, he was startled when a woman turned up with a hand clapper and shook it to make noise. The woman was taken away by police immediately. The hand clapper is seen as a symbol of the People's Alliance for Democracy.
