Unilever assures public of Wall's ice cream safety

Unilever Thai Trading Ltd has reaffirmed the safety of the 2 per cent of its Wall's Ice cream products imported from China namely Wall's Mini Popper and Wall's Moo Sandwich, following the completion of melamine contamination tests by an independent accredited laboratory accepted by Thailand's Food and Drug Administration.

The other 98 per cent of Wall's ice cream products sold in Thailand are manufactured locally and also represent no safety concern whatsoever, the company said in a statement.

Although already certified as safe by Unilever's own supply chain security system because the milk and milk derivatives products used in their manufacturing in China are all certified as imported from Australia, New Zealand, Europe and America, Unilever Thai Trading took the additional precaution of having its Wall's Mini Popper and Moo Sandwich products tested in Thailand in line with its commitment to deliver the highest standard of safety and quality to its consumers.
