Fewer passengers at Suvarnabhumi

Suvarnabhumi Airport expected the number of passengers to reach 41.14 million during October 2007 and September 2008, slightly down from the same period last year.

Serirat Prasutanond, Suvarnabhumi Airport director and acting president of Airports of Thailand Plc, said in the same period last year, the number of passengers reached 41.93 million.

Opened in September 28, 2006, the airport is capable of handling upto 45 million passengers.

The news coincided with reports that airlines have cut flights to cope with higher jet fuel prices.
