East Water reservoirs leaks

Over 30 houses in Rayong were covered by mud on Sunday after the nearby reservoir, belonging to Eastern Water Resources Development and Management Plc, leaked early morning.

The reservoir contained 63,000 cubic metres of water. Covering over 23 rai, the reservoir is situated 10 metres above the flooded village.

Chalermphon Chuphet, an officer of the company, attributed incident to the leakage of the plastic sheet underneath.

He said the company would be responsible for all damage. As a short term measure, it joins hands with the administrative body to provide food and clothes as well as temporary accommodations for the victims.
