Vegetable oil sale to rise

During the Je food festival, vegetable oil sale would increase 5 per cent from the previous month, according to Kasikorn Research Centre.

The research centre attributed the growth to demand for vegetarian food as well as high competition among vegetable oil manufacturers. Soybean oil manufacturers so far have stalled on another price increase, fearing that the higher prices would drive consumers to cheaper palm oil products.

The centre also said that domestic vegetable oil demand will show growth in line with the growth in food industry.
