Prakitpao affair - student stung

The Central Juvenile and Family Court yesterday ordered Pemmika Veerachatraksit to pay Bt2 million compensation to Dr Prakitpao Thomthitchong's wife for having an affair with her husband.

Alisa Thomthitchong, who is married to Prakitpao with two children, last year sued Pemmika for Bt27 million for the affair that began in mid2006.

Kiss and tell

Alisa accused the university student of giving details publicly about her intimate relationship with Prakitpao, following news that Prakitpao had been admitted to a mental hospital reportedly against his will.

The court was convinced yesterday by evidence that included Pemmika's confession of guilt on a TV programme, and ordered her to pay Alisa the Bt2million compensation at an interest rate of 7.5 per cent per year.

Alisa's lawyer said they were pleased with the ruling as Alisa's main intention was to restore the reputation of the family and its business; Pemmika's lawyer said they would appeal the case.
