SET to talk with Finance Ministry on US financial crisis

Stock Exchange of Thailand's executives on Thursday will discuss with the Finance Ministry's working committee on the consequences on the US financial crisis on the Thai stock market, urging the Cabinet to quickly restore investor confidence.

Patareeya Benjapholchai, president of the SET, said that the executives already prepared the information of the Thai stock market for the committee.

The SET will also discuss with the committee on the Thai stock size, the tax measures, and the possible measures to support the Merger and Acquisition (M&A).

The results of the discussions will be forwarded to the new president of Capital Market Development committee, which will draw up the measures to facilitate the M&A in the future.

She added that the Capital Market Master Plan would be completed in the end of this year.
