Songkhla Aquarium ready for tourists

Songkhla Municipality will officially unveil its Bt240 million aquarium on September 26, setting to promote the new product to tourists from Malaysian and Singapore.

Songkhla Mayor Uthit Chuchuay said the aquarium would be part of the province's tourism promotion campaign. As the province is home to marine, freshwater and semi-salted water lives, the aquarium would be attractive. He expected the new attraction would  generate at least Bt50 million in revenue in the first year and should break even within 2 years.

Tourism Authority of Thailand is now drawing a new promotion, to be offered to tour agencies in Malaysia and Singapore. It expects the aquarium to boost the number of family visitors.
