
Chiang Mai University runs the hospital. This Wednesday it's broadcasting a television programme appealing for help.
It is also Mahidol Day and the programme inŽcludes a documentary about the late Prince of Songkhla, His Majesty the King's father who founded the university. The show can be seen on Modernine at 10.15pm.
Medical school chief Dr Niwes Nanthakij says the money will pay for inpatient care. If it is to cope with outpaŽtients, too, then it needs another Bt121 million.
The hospital has a newer name - Maha Raj Nakhon Chiang Mai Hospital. It will build a new wing comŽmemorating the His Majesty's 80th birthday.
