In a complaint filed on Monday in Illinois State Court in Chicago, survivors and victims blamed the company and McDonnell Douglas, which Boeing acquired 11 years ago, for the defective manufacture of the MD82 jet that crashed in September last year.
McDonnell Douglas equipped the jet with engines lacking sufficient power to abort a problematic landing, according to the complaint. The crash killed 90 people and injured 40 more. - Bloomberg
