The nine leaders of the PAD on September 3 petitioned the Appeals Court to revoke the warrant to arrest them on serious charges including treason.
The court accepted the appeal on the grounds that there were no laws that prohibit such appeal.
This is a second appeal to cancel the warrants approved by the Criminal Court.
In its appellate argument, the PAD contends that the Criminal Court failed to factor in the justification of the charges filed against the nine PAD leaders before sanctioning the police to issue the warrants.
In the first appeal, the PAD failed to win a favourable verdict after the defence focused on the process of issuing the warrants rather than the charges.
