MBK/Siam Piwat acquire Seri Centre

Shopping centre operators MBK Plc and Siam Piwat Co Ltd have joined hands to take over Seri Centre, the shopping centre on Srinakarin Road, at the price of Bt975 million.

In a statement, MBK, the operator of MBK Centre, and Siam Piwat which manages Siam Discovery Centre will buy the 100 per cent stake in Seri Centre Management Co Ltd from Premier Group.

Opened in 1994, Seri Centre encompasses a total retail space of 150,000 square metres, exclusive of parking space.

MBK said in statement that the acquisition is to expand the retail business, on confidence in Seri Centre's location. As the shopping centre has a number of tenants, both acquirers stand to gain cash from Day 1. "Seri Centre offers the development potential for future success," it said.
