Purple Line bidders qualified in first round

All three bidders for the Purple Line electric train construction have been qualified for the second-round review, where their construction techniques would be the focus, said Mass Rapid Transit Authority Deputy Governor Ronachit Yaemsa-ard.

He said that the constract should be signed within this year as expected, and the foundation stone laying ceremony is scheduled for December 5 for the construction works to begin in January.

The three bidders are chiefly Italian-Thai Development Plc, Ch Karnchang Plc and Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Plc. Other construction companies joining the three key bidders are Tokyu Construction, Nawarat Patanakarn and Obayashi.
