Emergency likely to be called off
The government is set to announce an end to the state of emergency today, a well-informed source said late last night.
Caretaker Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat, along with Army chief General Anupong Paochinda and national police chief General Patcharawat Wongsuwan, is likely to call a news conference at the Armed Forces headquarters this morning to announce the lifting of the emergency.
