  • POSTCARDS FROM VALENCIA>>  On the final night of Fallas, around midnight on March 19, the falles are burnt in huge bonfires. This is a climax to the whole event, and the reason why the constructions are called falles or torches.
  • POSTCARDS FROM VALENCIA >> L’Ofrenda Floral. Valencians offer flowers to the virgin. This occurs all day on March 17 and 18. The virgin’s body is then constructed with the flowers.
  • POSTCARDS FROM VALENCIA >> The falla, or monument, is pieced together with smaller “minots”, or puppets. The minots are made according to an agreed upon theme, which mostly make fun of the current events. This falla is in Centro Del Carmen area and stands about 30-metre high.
