Southern train service resumes on Friday

State Railway of Thailand's officers at Hat Yai station are reportedly prepared for the resumption of 40 train services tomorrow, after the 14-day stoppage.

It was reported that the SRT's labour union has reached a satistory commitment from the negotiation with the SRT executives, and they agreed to end the work stoppage from tomorrow onwards.

Since SRT labour union launched the strike on August 29, some routes have been operational after a few days of stoppage, but most of the Southern trains have been halted, causing damage to the Southern economy particularly the Deep South where train is the main transportation means.

The first trains to leave the station at 6.30am tomorrow are the trains to Sungai Kolok and to Chumphon.
