Thanachart leads in raising deposit rates to 3%

Thanachart Bank has raised the top deposit saving rate by 50 basis points, offering its depositors 1.50-3 per cent, with immediate effect.

Deposits between Bt1 to Bt10 million will earn 2.75 per cent, from 2.50 per cent, while those over Bt10 million will be offered 3 per cent from 2.50 per cent. For the amounts between Bt100,000 to Bt1 million, the rate is unchanged at 1.50-2 per cent.

Praphan Anupongongarch, senior director for Business Development Group, said this is the choice for depositors at times when deposit rates are fluctuating.

"Our policy is to offer higher-than-market rates, to expand our client base under the fierce competition for deposits," Praphan said.
