Verdict on Samak ready for reading: Charan

Constitution Court judge Charan Pakdeethanakul said on Tuesday that the verdict on the prime minister's qualifications was ready for release this afternoon as scheduled.

The high court will hand down its decision at 2.00 pm. At stake is the job of Samak Sundaravej accused of violating a constitutional ban by involving in two cooking shows.

Should Samak be disqualified from office, the high court is expected to address the legal issue of whether he could remain a caretaker leader pending the election of a new prime minister.
