Colourful Chuwit Kamolvisit is seeing red over opponent Apirak Kosayodhin and he wants him struck of the ballot for capital governor.
Chuwit, the former massage-parlour tycoon, yesterday demanded the Election Commission punish the capital's last governor.
A churned Chuwit says Bangkok Metropolitan Administration advertisements on display in the city and detailing its good works include Apirak's name!
"These posters give Apirak a huge advantage over other candidates," Chuwit says. "It's unfair. These posters were paid for with taxpayers money", says the seething sauna-bath millionaire.
Apirak is seeking a second term.
The commission will make a decision in three days.
"If the posters break the law then the commission will get involved," its investigator Suthin Klinkrasan says.
Chuwit demands Apirak be disqualified and the posters removed.
But Apirak says he's done nothing wrong, no laws have been broken. He reminds Chuwit that he's no longer in City Hall.
Bangkok city clerk Pongsak Semsant says the whole thing's a mix up. He says the posters came down a long time ago.
"I don't know why some are still there. If people see them, tell a district office," he says.
The election is on October 5.
City Hall's spending a whopping Bt20 million to get residents to polling booths.
"We will reach voters via various media. We hope the turnout will be more than 70 per cent," a bullish Pongsak adds.
