Loan programme for overseas job seekers

The Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives has targeted to lend to 6,000 Thai workers who are seeking overseas jobs.

Labour Minister Uraiwan Thienthong said this will promote job mobility as each year, tens of thousand Thais workers are working overseas while a large number see their plans blocked due to shortage of financial assistance. Under the loan programme, each borrower is entitled to maximum Bt150,000. Eligible borrowers must be the bank's clients or clients' family members. They must also earn fixed salary.

They are subject to the annual interest rate of 10.5 per cent.
