Panatda Chennavasin, the top lady executive at Tripetch Isuzu Sales, admitted that due to her busy work schedule, she has not been able to fulfil the role of a "perfect mom" for her two daughters.

"But I believe I'm a good mom. I believe I can efficiently manage my time for my daughters, helping them plan their lives," she said.

Panatda's oldest daughter Am+ passed the medical school entrance examination two years ago. However, she gave up the chance to pursue a career in medicine instead choosing to join the Chulalongkorn University's commerce and accountancy faculty.

This was because Am+ had agreed with her mother before taking the examination that she was not destined to be a physician. Panatda said she believes that in the future, a career as a business consultant would be a better bet.

Apart from the lively ceremony and the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Surapong Suebwonglee who delivered the keynote address and spent many hours at the event, the tenth annual business awards held by The Netherlands-Thai Chamber of Commerce and Belgian-Luxembourg/ Thai Chamber of Commerce, last week closed with a surprise - a mini concert by Thai R&B idol Lydia.

Some participants, including jury member KI Woo, stayed riveted to their seats despite the official awards ceremony having ended and the clock striking 10pm.

New financial controller at Astudo

Wira Chaipramote has been appointed as the group financial controller at Astudo Hotel & Resort Management.

With extensive knowledge as a financial specialist and his expertise in a range of financial software systems, Wira received his bachelor's degree in business administration major accounting from Ramkhamhaeng University.

He has been working in similar positions for several leading companies in the hospitality industry, such as Aleenta Resort & Spa in Phang-Nga, Blue Lagoon Resort and Chaweng Beachcomber Resort in Koh Samui and The Dome in Bangkok.

Prior to his latest appointment at Astudo, he was working as a financial controller at Emporium Suites in Bangkok.
