PTT has clinched three corporate excellence awards awarded by the Thailand Management Association (TMA). These awards include the overall category that Siam Cement Group had held for the previous six years.
HRH Crown Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously bestowed the awards.
Of the nine categories, energy giant PTT bagged three awards - for overall corporate excellence, for corporate social responsibility and for leadership excellence. Though it lost its top rank for the overall corporate-excellence category for the first time, Siam Cement, the leading manufacturer of building materials, paper and petrochemicals, did bag two awards in the human-resource management and innovation-excellence categories.
Toyota, which holds more than 40 per cent of the Thai automobile market, has also won two awards, one each for marketing excellence, and product-and-service quality excellence. Thailand's fourth-largest commercial bank, Kasikornbank, maintained its six-year reign on the financial-management excellence award.
The country's largest beer and spirit-maker, Thai Beverage, has been recognised as the best company in the Thailand Corporate Excellence Awards 2007 category of excellence in corporate improvement.
To settle on the winners, TMA and its partner, Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration, had retained research company MarketWiseto to conduct a survey and gather information from executives of the top 1,000 companies operating in the country.
