Mediation team to meet on Monday

Senate speaker Prasobsook Boondech said he will discuss with the mediation team on Monday the protesters' condition that they will enter a negotiation to solve the political chaos only after Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej resigned.



The team members are House Speaker Chai Chidchob and Opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prasobsook said Sunday.

They will meet at 10am on Monday to consider the next step and the condition proposed by People's Alliance for Democracy which demanded to see PM's resignation before negotiation started.

"I have done my best so that the negotiation can start. Let's wait and see after tomorrow's meeting," Prasobsook said.

Prasobsook has given the heavy responsibility of trying to find middle ground between the protesters at Government House and PM Samak.

His team was formed after pro- and anti-government clashed last week in which a man was killed. After the clash, Samak imposed state of emergency in Bangkok.
