

Fun on the Midnight Run
Fun on the Midnight Run Amari Watergate Hotel and BMW Thailand invite fitness enthusiasts and city runners to take part in the unique Midnight Run. The annual charitable race gets under way at midnight on October 11 at the Amari Watergate Hotel, with two distances offered - six or 12 kilometres. The winners will receive trophies, holiday packages and more. Proceeds from the event will go to the education fund at Chalerm Phrakiat HRH Princess Sirindhorn School and the healthcare fund for HIVpositive children at the Baan Gerda Project.

Royal Ascot comes to Phuket
The Laguna Phuket is organising a fundraising party for the Phuket Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) on October 11. The theme is "Royal Ascot at Laguna" - where guests dress up in funny hats and don't look funny at all. PAWS offers care and shelter for stray cats and dogs in Phuket as well as educating local communities in animal welfare. Tickets at Bt2,500 for the "Paddock" or Bt3,000 for a seat in the "Royal Box" cover freeflowing beverages and dinner courtesy of the Banyan Tree Phuket.

Dash for cash
Active Management Asia, an outdoorrace organiser, is calling on "weekend warriors" to take up the challenge of its "Outdoor Unlimited Dash Series 20082009".
The races will take place on Sunday mornings in easy accessible locations carefully chosen for their beautiful scenery and challenging terrain but all within a 100kilometre radius of Bangkok.
The First Dash will take place on Sunday, September 21 in Khao Mai Keo near Pattaya - just over an hour's drive from Bangkok on the newly completed Highway 7.

Pedalling hard for health
The Chachoengsao Bike for Health Club is inviting everyone to see the countryside from its perspective with a 130kilometre bicycle tour starting at 8am on September 14.
From the Nong Prue intersection in Chonburi, the ride follows Route 331 through Panatnikhom and Bangkhla and turns around at Khao Hin Son National Park in Chachoengsao. Free lunch waits at the end. They figure it will take about four hours, as long as you can keep the pace of 30km per hour.
