Siam Temp cool and calm on political chaos

While many businesses fear a huge drop in investment because of political turmoil, Siam Temp still has an opti¬mistic view.

"Many people told me to see how many plants would have to close in the short term through the bad situa¬tion, but I still have a longterm look," managing direc¬tor Aroon Eamsureya said yesterday.

Siam Temp, established 41 years ago, makes indus¬trial airconditioning sys¬tems under the Air Temp brand.

Aroon said the industry still saw good demand for installing new systems, mostly from multinational companies with plants in Thailand that manufacture products in high volume for export.

These companies are not greatly affected by political events within Thailand and are always willing to invest in new aircon systems that provide better quality and higher benefits.

Siam Temp is building awareness of its new freshair system by arranging seminars and advertising in media channels that reach target customers.

It is educating manufac¬turers and consultants about the system's benefits.

Plants can save energy by ensuring 100percent use of cool air, while the system prevents bacteria in the air and can be used outdoors.

Main targets are all sizes of plants in various sectors from food to plastics as well as places that need good hygiene, such as operating rooms in hospitals.

The system has already been installed by bakery Thai Yamazaki and zipper and button manufacturer YKK (Thailand). Each plant invested Bt2 million in the system.

Aroon said the minimum cost of the system was actu¬ally as low as Bt100,000, depending on area and requirements.

Thailand's industrial airconditioning market is worth Bt10 billion, of which freshair systems account for Bt1 billion, according to Aroon.

Siam Temp expects to achieve a market share of up to 30 per cent within the next 12 months.

The company also exports its products, mainly to the United Arab Emirates. Aroon said the Middle East had high potential because the region was seeing enormous investment in property.
