Court demands more document from SCB

The Central Administrative Court on Thursday ordered Siam Commercial Bank to submit additional document within 3 days to support its lawsuit against the Revenue Department.

The bank filed the lawsuit following the department's order that it transferred the Bt12 billion in former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's children's accounts at the bank to the department for tax payments. It claimed that the order clashed with the Assets Examination Committee's directives that all such accounts remain frozen.

Senior Executive Vice President Bodin Asawanit on Thursday gave his testimony on Thursday. Leaving the court room 2 hours later, he denied to give comments.

"We filed the lawsuit so that the court could give us the clear protocol on how we should comply with the orders. Under good governance practices, we need to comply with the laws," Bodin said. He noted that as the bank fought against the Revenue Department's order, the image has been more positive in the public perception.
