
The fair runs until Sunday at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok.
Credit cardholders of some banks can receive even more benefits, as several institutions are offering spe¬cial promotions for their customers at the event.
Citibank, which is the creditcard partner of the fair, offers discounts of 510 per cent on top of the normal discount available to cardholders.
Citibank cardholders buying accommodation packages at partner hotels and resorts like the Dusit Thani Pattaya, Dusit D2 Chiang Mai, Baan Talay Dao Hua Hin, Koh Kood Cabana and Centara Hotel and Resort will benefit from the addi¬tional discount.
They will also receive an addi¬tional discount of 10 per cent when spending at travel agents like IYI Service, Travel Guide, Gold Season Travel and Quality Express at the fair.
Another Citibank benefit is on offer to those spending more than Bt5,000 with its cards at the fair: a Bt300 voucher for Lee Cafe. Those spending more than Bt12,000 will receive an Bt800 voucher for Sakura Japanese Restaurant and Greyhound Cafe. Cardholders spending Bt25,000 or more will receive a minifridge worth Bt2,000.
Moreover, for every Bt500 spent via a Citibank credit card at the event, cardholders will receive a tick¬et for a lucky draw in which the top prize is a Toyota Vios worth Bt499,000.
Draws will be held every two hours for 40 accommodation pack¬ages at the Rest Detail Hotel Hua Hin, worth Bt8,828 each, plus 40 iPod Shuffles, worth Bt2,290 each.
Meanwhile, Krungthai Card (KTC) is offering special promotions for cardholders making purchases at the 13th Discovery Thailand fair, as well as at the concurrent Health and Cuisine Fair at the same venue, and at any shops and restaurants in the convention centre.
MK Restaurant vouchers worth Bt300 will be given to those spend¬ing Bt5,000 or more and worth Bt800 for expenditure of at least Bt12,000, while cardholders spend¬ing more than Bt20,000 will receive a coffeemaker and a baking machine worth Bt1,685.
Those spending Bt100,000 or more with a KTC card will be given a Bt24,140 roundtrip air ticket from Bangkok to Macau on Bangkok Airways.
KTC Royal Orchid Plus card¬holders will be entitled to six bottles of Namacha Green Latte when they spend via the card at the fair.
KTC cardholders can enjoy the offers at the KTC Touch booth, locat¬ed on the ground floor of the con¬vention centre.
HSBC (Thailand) is offering dis¬counts of 510 per cent to cardhold¬ers, on top of existing discounts, for 19 partner hotels at tourist destina¬tions.
In addition, the bank will give a Bt500 voucher for every Bt8,000 spent on its cards at the booths of participating hotels.
