Investing for the long term

Aberdeen Asset Management, one of the leading investment firms in

Thailand, has launched a nationwide campaign promoting the value

of long-term investment among local investors.

Aberdeen's "Pearls of Wisdom" programme will be supported by

four of the company's key partners - HSBC, Phatra Securities,

Standard Chartered and Citibank - and will involve a roadshow and

a series of seminars.

"The campaign reflects our company's buy-and-hold equity style

and our focus on fundamentally sound companies. The campaign is

mainly educational and cites the example of well-know investment

giants who counsel patience over panic at times of market stress,"

said Robert Penaloza, chief executive officer of Aberdeen Asset

Management. - The Nation
