The poll conducted on 1,254 respondents from August 2730 showed 83.9 per cent of respondents did not know that the gubernatorial election would be held on October 5. Only 16 per cent knew.

Bangkok Governor Apirak Kosayodhin came far ahead as the favourite candidate with 43.3 per cent, followed by ML Nattakorn Devakul with 13.1 per cent, Chuwit Kamolwisit 6.9 per cent; 26.7 per cent had not decided who they would vote for.

A source from the People Power party said yesterday it had agreed to nominate Prapat Chongsanguan, governor of the Mass Rapid Transit Authority, as its candidate for Bangkok governor.
