HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn

HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has assigned medical personnel from the Thai Red Cross to prepare teams and supplies in case more clashes happen in the anti-government protests, a senior doctor said yesterday.

Dr Pichit Siriwarn, rescue chief of the Red Cross Society, said his office had prepared personnel, medical supplies, ambulances, an emergency mobile communications unit and 25 satellite phones.

"Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is worried about the situation. She assigned medical teams to be ready if clashes happen," Dr Pichit said.

Medical units will be set up at Chamai Maruchet Bridge, and the teams will cooperate with Narantorn Rescue Centre to reach people as soon as possible in an emergency.
